Call, call, call. It's so important to talk to editors directly to ensure your story gets placed and make sure to follow up regularly. Give the editors ideas and they just may be able to create a story around your brand. Make sure to send files in a format that is easy to see and open, doesn't take too long to download, and features the best pieces in your collection. Then, if they display interest, send them larger formats for print, or be prepared to send the item directly. Gifts do work, so if you can gift items, do so. Also, have an overall game plan on which magazines and websites you want to send to. Don't just send to everyone, our automatically assume you collection belongs in Vogue. Consider online editions, international editions and teen editions of a magazine. If you start out with a specific plan you will save yourself time and money.
