Is The Future of The Fashion Market Curvy?

We need a realisation that plus-size is a new market segment, one that’s large and fashion-conscious.

June was the month for curvy women: the cover of Vogue generated media attention, bringing the subject of curves and how glamorous they can be to very many people’s attention. But the rescue of curviness, if we want to call it that, is not just a… Continue

Skates Anyone?

This particular boot, designed by brothers Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared2, appears in the current issue of Marie Claire magazine along with a brief article explaining the concept behind it's creation.

Says Dan, "Dean noticed that old granny pioneer-style lace-up boots looked like ice skates, so we put blades on them to make them sexy skating boots. At first no one would produce them for fear that someone would break their neck, but their as stable as stilettos."

Resort Accessories 2012 (Part 1)

While I love the ready-to-wear collections, I look forward to the season's new crop of accessories. While some designers continue with variations on the "tried and true," many continue to out do themselves, such as Oscar de la Renta. Over the past few years, his collections have slowly graduated from the more staid, ladies who lunch-look, to a more hip and happening assortment of shoes and vintage inspired jewelry.

from it's studded loafers to those gorgeous cage sandals, Louis… Continue

Street Scene: Milan Fashion Week Recap

Included in this fashionable group, is one of the most stylish, and probably one of the most photographed, is Julia Sarr-Jamois (picture one). Also featured is the author of the blog "All The Pretty Birds," Tamu Mcpherson (picture six). While it's apparent that each of the ladies has a style all her own, my favorite look is picture two....the colorful Celine bag and ensemble topped off by a chic hat is quite eye-catching!…
