Whilst perusing the Opening Ceremony website today (http://www.openingceremony.us), I came across an anomaly so clever in its usefulness that I just had to add it
to my Christmas wish list (right before “automatic Mayor of every existing and yet
to exist Four Square location” and only slightly after “brand new furbished
apartment”).
From Bernstock Speirs, a decades old company having worked with such designers as Peter Jensen,
Richard Nicoll, Emma Cook, Unconditional, Agnes B and Jean-Paul Gaultier, comes
a wool knit scarf with detachable fingerless gloves. The Bernstock Glove Scarf, which, without
question must be christened the Glarf, spoke to me like only its predecessor the
Therma Scarf had before it.
It would take more than one fingerless glove to count the number of times I’ve left a winter accessory behind in my haste. No amount of posting Lost/Reward signs ever
did a lick of good in getting them back.
But now, with this Glarf 2-in-1 business, I sense the day drawing nearer
when I can stop accusing every passerby I see wearing commemorative Puff the
Magic Dragon earmuffs of having stolen them from yours truly. And so, the pain dissipates, but it never
really goes away.
